When this pouch is open, there is a pen bed space where you can temporarily place pen caps and pens themselves. You can place your pens using the pen holder, which is a fastener. The pen holder is made of wood, so you can place your pens gently without damaging them.

This pen holder was finished with Tamenuri. After painting with green urushi, transparent-urushi is applied. Over time, the transparent urushi will become more transparent and the green urushi underneath will become clearer.The urushi used is high-quality Japanese urushi, which is also used in Maki-e.

The string is called Sanada Himo. The warp and weft threads intersect at right angles, and the weft threads are strongly driven and compressed during weaving, resulting in a durable string with almost no elasticity. This is a traditional string that has been around since the Edo period in Japan.

The kimono obi fabric used this time is a beautiful, deep, calm green with a beautiful floral pattern. Colored obi fabric is rare.
