Pen pouch for 2 pens (XL-size) #20 Wheel(Katawa-guruma) and chrysanthemum pattern
¥20,000 税込
SOLD OUT
This pen pouch can even hold XL-sized pens.
The yellow cloth inside is a microfiber cloth called Urushi Clean, which is made specifically for lacquer-coated surfaces. The inner cloth allows you to put the pen in the pen case after it has been wiped clean by the action of putting the pen in and taking it out.
When this pouch is open, there is a pen bed space where you can temporarily place pen caps and pens themselves. You can place your pens using the pen holder, which is a fastener. The pen holder is made of wood, so you can place your pens gently without damaging them.
The urushi coating on the pen holder is done using a technique called "Fuki-urushi," in which the urushi is rubbed in, wiped off, and dried over and over again. Both ends are made using the raden technique, in which shells are attached with black urushi and the spaces between the shells are repeatedly painted with urushi and polished. All of them use precious natural urushi from Japan.
The string is called Sanada Himo. The warp and weft threads intersect at right angles, and the weft threads are strongly driven and compressed during weaving, resulting in a durable string with almost no elasticity. This is a traditional string that has been around since the Edo period in Japan.
The kimono obi fabric used this time has an elegant wheel and chrysanthemum pattern. It is a pattern that gives the feeling of the slow flow of time, which was often used in the late Heian period in Japan. The fabric has a pattern and color similar to the Kodaiji Maki-e lacquerware handed down at Kodaiji Temple in Kyoto.
All materials are one-of-a-kind, with no two pieces being the same.
