This pen case was designed to store your precious maki-e and urushi pens in beautiful condition.
The yellow inner cloth (microfiber cloth) allows you to put the pen in the pen case after it has been wiped clean by the action of putting the pen in and taking it out.
The cover part of the pen case is made to cover the width of six pens, so you can wipe the pens gently before putting them in the case.

The string is called Sanada Himo. The warp and weft threads intersect at right angles, and the weft threads are strongly driven and compressed during weaving, resulting in a durable string with almost no elasticity. This is a traditional string that has been around since the Edo period in Japan.

The clasp is made from Hinoki-wood in the shape of bamboo leaf, which is easy to pierce and fasten. A base coat is applied, the shell is pasted on, urushi is applied to cover the thickness of the shell, and the urushi is sharpened to expose the shell.The sides and back are sprinkled with pure silver powder and painted with transparent urushi. I think the more time passes, the more glossy the urushi will become.

The fabric for this kimono is black-tomesode.The black Tomesode is the most formal dress (first dress) for married women. It is mainly worn on celebratory occasions such as weddings and wedding receptions. Therefore, it is painted with auspicious patterns.

The kimono fabric used this time features a pattern that combines wisteria flowers and pine trees. The combination of wisteria and pine trees is considered to be extremely auspicious, with wisteria symbolizing "elegance," "eternal love," and "bonds," while pine trees symbolize "eternity and longevity." The wisteria flowers and leaves are not solid colors, but are blurred, giving the fabric a warm, handcrafted feel.
